7.TANF Food Stamps, Your Local .gov website they will direct you to the agency that services your area. * As of November 1, 2025 Food Stamps distribution has been suspended until the lockdown is over. Thank the Republicans for this cruelty.

10. Habitat for Humanity Resale Stores, check with your local Habitat for the nearest store to your zip code. They sell household items and the monies support building homes for the disadvantaged, poor and veterans.

Grants ( You don't have to pay back the grant money) to repair homes, heating systems, plumbing, roofing and health and safety home repair issues

16. HUD Section 8 Housing Rental and Homeownership Voucher Program.
They pay 60% and you pay 30% of the rental allotment for your family size.
Get on the waiting list if your not already and sign up for waiting lists where you have family, friends and a support network.
You can either get in subsidized housing units or sign a lease with a property owner to rent a house, after you have paid for one solid year on time, your rental voucher can be used to buy a home. Look into this, it is rarely advertised but many Housing Authorities administer the Housing Voucher Home Ownership Program.

18. Small Business Administration: Free Credit Counseling and Credit Repair programs, Help starting a business, business planning, etc.

21. Local Legal Services in Your State
Free confidential legal services, income eligibility is determined after an over the phone intake assessment.
22. Help Paying Your Property Taxes or delaying them. Call your local Tax Collectors office, there are programs for the elderly, disabled, veterans and low-income homeowners to delay or defray these costs, most local tax collectors/assessor's office have federal and state programs depending on your situation.
